"Miss Willie Mae Polk, northeast Kansas City, died Saturday at St Mary's Hospital. She was born in Howard County, Ark., and had lived in this area 30 years. Miss Polk had been a machine operator for Mar-Kay Plastics, Inc. for six years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She leaves her mother, Mrs. Georgia Polk of Kansas City; two brothers, Carroll Polk of Kansas City, Kan., and I. Z. Polk of Gillham, Ark.; and a sister, Miss Vivian Polk of the home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Blackman Guardian Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, June 19, 1984
