NEWPORT: Connie M. Geedy, 74, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at her home in Oliver Township, Newport. She was born February 16, 1938 in Newport to George and Ada (Gipe) Longwell. She loved to cook, do puzzles and travel to Poe Valley Lake.
Connie is survived by her sons, Tim Geedy of Elliottsburg and Russell Geedy of Mifflintown; daughters, Joel Weldon of Newport, Patricia Stuck and Georgia Sheaffer of Shermans Dale; brother, Steven Longwell of New Bloomfield; grandchildren, Zachary Knuth, Cody Sheaffer, Nicholas Sheaffer,Emily Geedy, Rajon Gernigan and Seth Monson and great grandchildren, Aidan Gernigan and Rhianan Knuth. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maureen Asper, Arita Nell and Georgia Meyer.
Family and friends are invited to services on Saturday from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, for a funeral at 11 AM with Pastor Trevor Lightner officiating. There is a viewing from 10 AM until the service. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pa., 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg 17110. www.pennlive.com/obits
