Gwendolyn "Teckla" M. Barneson, age 81, of Strum went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Crystal Lake Care Center in Strum.
Gwen was born on July 12, 1931 to the late James and Virginia (Kelley) Hawkins in Eau Claire County. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1949. She met Erwin A. Barneson in 1945 and they married on July 28, 1951. At the time, Gwen was employed at Presto Industries. To this union four children were born: Danny, Diana, Dale, and David.
Gwen was a loving and patient care giver her entire life; taking care of the elderly in later life. Besides her husband and children, her grandchildren were the love of her life.
Gwen was a member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire where she taught Sunday school for many years and also active in her circle. In her later years, she taught Sunday school and served as mission president at the Eleva-Strum Nazarene Church. She was also active in various Bible studies. Her heart was in missions. She also loved volunteering in her community.
Gwen would like to be remembered for her faith in Jesus - her love of family, church and all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Jim) Bockus, Dale Barneson, and David (Jill) Barneson; special daughter-in-law, Jackie; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abraham, Rebecca, Isaac and Hannah Barneson, Jonathan and Joshua Bockus, Lilah, Sarah, and Abigail Barneson; brothers, Albert "Hap" (Carol), Wesley (Marion), Robert "Steve" (Carole), and Donald (Susan); sister, LaVonna Thompson; sisters-in-law, Bonnie, Gladys, and Jean Hawkins; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
