Philomena Koss, age 88 of Youngstown passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Omni Manor Health Care Center, Youngstown.
Born October 4, 1924 in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Rocco Anthony and Mary (Gentile) Berardino.
Philomena married Stephen Koss on June 4, 1949 and together they had a son, Robert. Stephen passed away on November 29, 2012.
Philomena's main interest was her family and she was a committed homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Disciples Christian Church. She was a former member of the Dogwood Golf League and Camelot Bowling league. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and tending to her flower garden.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Susan) Koss of Powell, OH. Three sisters; Betty (Frank) Toman of Hubbard, Lydia (Steve) Yaniw of Youngstown and Eva Berardino of Boardman. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Irene Perry and Margaret Palko. Four brothers; Joseph, Ralph, Elliot and John Berardino. Visitation will be held at Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 3-4pm with a funeral service at 4:00pm. Private
Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
