Final Rites for J. T. Garrett Are Held in California
---Funeral services for J. T. Garrett, who passed away suddenly at his Long Beach, Calif., home Thursday, December 7th, were held Monday, December 11th at one o'clock from the Patterson and Snively Chapel in Long Beach. Dr. Winfield Edson of the First Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in the Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Calif.
---Mr. Garrett farmed southwest of Aurora for a number of years then moved to Aurora where he was associated with his brother, W. E., in livestock feeding operations for a number of years.
---John Thomas Garrett of 537 Cedar Ave., Long Beach, Calif., son of John Benjamin and Rebecca Garrett, born near Waynesville in DeWitt County, Ill., Jan. 24, 1875, passed away Dec. 7, 1950, aged 75 years, 10 months and seven days.
---He was married to Minnie B. Marvel March 3, 1897. He was a member of the United Brethren Church while living in Aurora, Nebr. He moved from Aurora to Long Beach in 1935. Surviving are the widow, Minnie B., and granddaughter, Janice M. Dunham, Long Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Anderson of Denton, Texas, and Mrs. Edith Gorgan [sic] of Grand Island, Nebr.; three brothers, A. L. Garrett of Wilmar, Calif., E. R. Garrett of Alhambra, Calif., and W. E. Garrett of Giltner, Nebraska.
