Charles "Ed" Meeks, 83, of Bowling Green, died at 7:50 p.m. Sept. 25, 2010, at The Medical Center.
The Warren County native was born Sept. 10, 1927. He was a farmer and a member of Martinsville Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband of Jonell Meeks, his wife of 55 years. He cared deeply for his children, his grandchildren and the many friends who will miss him. He was a son of the late Alvie Meeks and Ollie Woods Meeks. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Leon and Herbert Meeks; and a sister, Mildred Murphy.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Jonell Herald Meeks; two daughters, Kay Meeks and Sharon Stubblefield and her husband, Alan, all of Bowling Green; a brother, Wallace Meeks and his wife, Imogene, of Smiths Grove; a sister, Virginia Studle of Smiths Grove; two grandchildren, Amy Grinstead and her husband, Keith, of Oakland, and Brent Stubblefield of Greensburg, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
