William Phillips Doherty was born to William A. (born in Salem) and Julia (Dugan) (born in Fall River) Doherty when they were living at 24 Jackson Street in Taunton and William A. was a Brit's worker. NOTE Julia was born Mar 07,
1853 in Taunton and died Apr 08, 1888 in Taunton. William A. married (2) Elizabeth A. Maliff born about 1859 in North Easton.

William P. Doherty, a grocer of 24 Jackson Street, age 26, married Evelyn Margaret Hewitt of 50 Bay Street, age 19. He was born in Taunton, the son of William A. and Julia A. (Dugan) Doherty. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of Frederick E. and Ellen (Grady) Hewitt.

In Sep 1918 William filed his WWI draft registration card when he and Evelyn were living at 142 Bay Street and he was working as a grocery clerk for W. A. Doherty at 368 Bay Street. At that time, he was described as having a medium
height and build, light blue eyes and dark brown hair, slightly bald.
