Per her death certificate found on Ancestry.com: she was a daughter of William G. Barber and Mary Powers, both born in Fairfield Co., and the wife of A. L. Dyson. She died at home at 1031 Price Ave. of coronary thrombosis. The informant was A. L. Dyson of the same address.

Found in The State 22 March 1942: Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dyson, wife of A. L. Dyson of 1031 Price avenue, died at the age of 54 years last night at her home after an illness of the past few months. She had lived in Columbia all her life and was a member of Park Street Baptist church. Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. John P. Bethea, Miss Beatrice Dyson, Miss Margery Dyson and Miss Dorothy Dyson, all of Columbia; three sons, W. M. Dyson, L. L. Dyson and C. L. Dyson; two brothers, S. W. Barber and C. O. Barber of Columbia; three grandchildren and one niece.

Found in The State 23 March 1942: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dyson of 1031 Price avenue will be conducted at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the residence by Dr. Paul Wheeler. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. Dyson died Friday night at her home after an illness of several months. She was 54 years old, a member of Park Street Baptist church and she had lived here all her life. Active pallbearers will be E. B. Hair, Gordon McClain, C. W. Frost, C. J. Clyburn, Luther Williamson and W. H. Lancaster.
