50 years member/guitarist of The Silver Stars Gospel Singers of Macon, Georgia.

Louis was the son of Harmon D. Blackmon Sr and Viola Duffie Blackmon. He was educated in the Houston County School System. He relocated to Bibb County, Georgia at a young age. Louis was a member of Stubbs Chapel Baptist Church in Bibb County, Georgia, joining under the leadership of the late Pastor R.B. Brooks Jr. He served on the Deacon Board for over 40 years and as the guitarist for the Church Choirs(Youth for Christ Choir, Gospel Choir, Male Choir and Senior Choir). He'd earlier sang baritone in the Senior Choir and held a position on the Board of Trustees as the church's treasurer. At the time of his death, he was the Assistant Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was a member of the Silver Stars Gospel Singers of Macon, Georgia for whom he played guitar for over 50 years. During his time with the group he served as President and Treasurer. He was the co-founder of the Helping Hand Food Ministry. He was also a member of the Rising Stars Society. He worked in the tire industry as a tire specialist and retreader for over 60 years, receiving awards such as Employee of the Year and Excellence in Truck Tire Retreading. He was previously employed with Central Tire Company, Wall Tire Company and Palmer Tire Company. He retired from Raffield Tire Masters, where he was a retreader, in 2008. His favorite past time was watching cowboy movies and reminiscing about his family and childhood. He also love enjoying a "good ole" meal.

He was married to Mattie L. Hicks Blackmon on October 10,1954 and remained married for 58 years. They had 2 sons and 3 daughters.

He was preceeded in death by 1 daughter, Linda Diane Blackmon; 5 brothers, Harmon "HD" Blackmon, Charles "CH" Blackmon Sr, Floyd Blackmon, Lloyd Blackmon and Ellis Blackmon; and 3 sisters, Louise Gibson, Marion Blackmon and Addie Best.

Wife: Mattie L. Blackmon.
2 Sons: Edward J. Blackmon(Lois) and David L. Blackmon Sr(Cheryl).
2 Daughters: Yolanda Rhynes(Ramone) and Olicia Rainey(Eric).
1 Brother: Johnny "JB" Blackmon.
3 Sisters: Mary Ridley, Sarah Ruth Rutland and Ola Mae Pearson.
8 Sisters-In-Law: Lillie Blackmon and Bertha L. Little(Ira), Carrie Bonner(Fred), Bessie Riddick, Arlene Southern(Lawrence), Mary Southern, Bobbie Ann Stephens and Sarah Montgomery.
6 Brothers-In-Law: Walter Hicks, Willie Hicks(Elizabeth), Emblie Hicks, David Hicks, Wallace Hicks and Wilbert Hicks.
6 Grandchildren: Edwar G. Blackmon, Madison O. Rainey, David L. Blackmon Jr, LaVar A. Blackmon, David D. Blackmon and Brittany J. Blackmon.
2 Great Grandchildren: Alexis C. Blackmon and Phillip M. Outley Jr.

Services were held Saturday, February 16,2013 at 12noon in the Sactuary of Stubbs Chapel Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia with Rev Arthur Hubbard officiating.
