Daughter of Samuel J. Moxley and
Jennie J. Messmore.

Moved with her parents and siblings
from MO to Glasco, Cloud County in
Kansas, in 1884.

Anna had a son ouf of marriage with
Theodore Dudley Palmer who was named
Theodore "Jack" Palmer Jr.
(July 28, 1888-May 5, 1974). He was raised
by Anna's maternal aunt and husband - Josias
L. "Si" and Elizabeth O. "Lib" (Messmore)
Jamison, in Glasco. Jack moved to CA and
married Rena Carter Stafford (Oct. 19, 1891-
June 18, 1941. They raised five children in
the Los Angeles area - Eunice Adele, Norman
Ross, Bruce Neal, Frances Jeanette and
Mollie Joanne.

On Dec. 19, 1890 in Kansas City, KS, Anna
Moxley married Joseph Warren Shephard
(Mar. 29, 1858-Aug. 2, 1946), a successful
land owner, native of Blooming Grove,
Franklin County, Indiana, eldest child of
Oliver Hazard Shepard (Dec. 12, 1835-May 8,
1932) and Mary Jane Osborn (1835-July 17,
1876) who were buried in Minneapolis, KS.
Joseph and Anna farmed in Dickinson and
Ottawa counties and raised ten children.
They moved to Chapman in 1901.
Children:
(1) Frank Leland Shephard (Oct. 26, 1891-
Mar. 6, 1965) who married Neva May
McCready (Aug. 27, 1893-Apr. 26, 1970)
who were buried in Indian Hill Cemetery,
Chapman. They had two sons - Stuart Eugene
and Leland Max.

(2) Samuel Oliver Shephard (Dec. 8, 1893-
May 26,1939) married Margaret May Skinner
(Sept. 23, 1896-May 24, 1950) on Sept. 23,
1915. Both were buried in Chapman. They
had two children - Sammie Lou and Dale
Warren.

(3) Floyd Friday Shephard (Sept.13,1895-
Nov. 22, 1987) married Mabel Irene Machmer
(Aug. 20, 1899-Aug. 1999). They were buried
in Solomon, KS. They had two sons - Floyd
Warren (died after birth) and Roger Dean.

(4) Albert Ross Shepard (Nov. 18, 1896-
Jan. 18, 1986) married Gertrude Ione Kelly
(June 10, 1897-Nov. 24, 1960). They were
buried in St. Patrick Cem., Chapman. They
had no children. Ross' second wife was
Virginia Ellen Tatum (Mar. 31, 1911-Mar. 7,
1995).

(5) Clyde Henry Shepard (Nov. 24, 1898-
Feb. 17, 1978) married first Julia A. Cushing
(Sept.20, 1902-May 29,1927) who was buried
in St. Patrick's in Chapman. They had three
children in Chapman - Virginia Lucille, John
Warren and Robert Richard.
Clyde's second wife was Iva Harriet White
(June 20, 1907-May 24, 1980). They died in
Carmichael, CA and were buried there.
They had no children.

(6) Neva Grace Shepard (Sept. 30, 1900-
Feb. 1985) married first Jud W. Hines
(Sept. 17, 1892-Mar. 20, 1988)(div.).
They had a daughter, Betty Lee. Neva's
second husband was Lyman McDonald
(Nov. 4, 1890-May 1963). They died in
Kansas City, MO.

(7) Leo Reed Shepard (Oct. 9, 1902-
June 12, 1971) married Vera Jeanne Wilday
(Feb. 11, 1907-Mar. 23, 1987). They
adopted a son, William W., and lived in
TX and OK. They were buried in Memorial
Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City.

(8) Joseph Warren Shepard Jr. (1905-
Apr. 27, 1944) died in El Paso, TX. He
was buried there in Evergreen Cemetery.
He married Patricia Catherine Madden.
They had three children in El Paso -
Joseph Patrick, James Warren and Diana
Patricia Therese.

(9) Charlotte Lena Shepard (Nov. 13,
1907-Sept. 9, 1973) married Waldron
Klerner Hale (1905-Sept. 29, 1954).
They had two children - Waldron
Klerner Jr. and Linda Lea. Charlotte
is buried in Chapman.

(10)Marguerite Florence Shepard
(Dec. 20, 1913-Jan. 25, 1986) married
Sherman Henry Sullivan (Apr. 5, 1914-
Apr. 1, 1999). Their cremains were
placed in Fairhaven Memorial Park,
Santa Ana, CA. Their three children
were Richard Warren, Judith Kay and
John Edward.
