Services for William Edward Bartgis, 77, of Meadow Bridge, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the E. M. Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with the Rev. Fred Dillon in charge. Burial will be in the Ballengee Cemetery at Oak Grove.
Bartgis died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday after a long illness.
Born in Hinton, June 25, 1888, he was a son of the late Lewis and Willie Margaret Seldomridge Bartgis.
He was a retired Chesapeake and Ohio carpenter, a member of the Baptist Church at Meadow Bridge and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. I. Howard Miller of Hinton, Mrs. T. H. Hedrick of Clarksburg and Mrs. Blanche Book of North Hollywood, Calif., and three brothers, John H. Hinton, Joseph of Beckley and Howard J. (Mack) of Hilldale.
