Oldest child of John Ellis Shelton and Gwendolyn Hembree Shelton, born in Dallas, Texas while father was overseas in Japan during WWII, died unexpectedly in San Jose, California after surgery. Survived by his beloved companion of 15 years, Lisa Heston, California; sisters, Margaret Boykin, Colorado, Mary Curbow and Ellen Richardson, Texas; cousin Virginia Fincher, Abilene; nephew Aaron Rusch, Pflugerville and numerous nieces and nephews. Noted for his artwork done in the 1960s, now sought after and in private collections, it helped to chronicle that time in the history of Austin, especially the music.
