Pearl Levy, formerly of Lorain, OH passed away on Monday February 11, 2013 in Lauderhill, FL at the age of 87.

Pearl was a survivor of Auschwitz concentration camp. She arrived in Lorain with her husband and young daughter in 1949 and felt blessed every day of her life to be in the United States.

Pearl worked at Lorain Products for 20 years and was an active member of Agudath B'nai Israel Temple, where she made many lifelong friends. Many of her happiest times were spent being part of the ABI community.

Pearl never met a stranger. She was a friend to everyone, especially those who needed compassion and caring. She was beloved by many and touched hundreds of lives with her warmth and delightful sense of humor. When she left Lorain some 22 years ago, many tears were shed at various going-away parties held in her honor.

Pearl was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David, and her son, Hal. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Brisset Talcott and Marissa Levy, grandchildren Elodie and Alex, brother Erwin (Myrna) Froman, sisters Goldie Nisenbaum and Helen Weingarten, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made in Pearl Levy's (nee Pepi Froimowitz) memory to: USC Shoah Foundation Institute, The Institute for Visual History and Education, Leavey Library, 650 West 35th Street, Suite 114, Los Angeles, CA 90089.
