She was a volunteer worker at Morehead Memorial Hospital for 33 years and at the time of her retirement, had the longest tenure of service.
She retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 30 years of service.
Mrs. Adkins had lived a long and productive life and was more than ready to go be with her husband, Robert Adkins, her daughters, Geneva Joyce and Peggy Farris and her grandchildren, John Meeks, Gina Joyce and Greg Joyce who had all gone on before her.
