Youngest son of Samuel J. Moxley and Elizabeth J. Messmore.
In the Fall of 1912 Roy entered Dental School in Kansas City, MO.
Lieut. Moxley served in France in WWI and was there when his mother passed away.
He practiced dentistry in KS until 1940 at which time he and his wife relocated to Brownsville, TX where he continued in his profession until 1964 at which time he retired.

In 1911 he married Grace Ann Stackhouse (May 1878-Mar. 10, 1912), a teacher.
She was a daughter of William L. Stackhouse (June 29, 1832-Mar. 19, 1913)
and Ann M. McDonald (Sept. 29, 1839-May 22, 1905).
Roy and Grace had one son, Max Lowell Moxley (Mar. 2, 1912-Feb. 24, 2011).
Grace was buried in the Stackhouse family plot in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington,
KS. She died eight days after giving birth.

On Oct. 3, 1917 in Kirwin, Phillips County, KS, Roy married Sarah Lee "Sadie" Lovejoy
(Mar. 8, 1887-Jan. 18, 1975) native of Lenox, McComb County, Michigan and
daughter of Gilbert R. Lovejoy (1848-1908) and Ella L. Simmons (1863-1929). They had
no children. Both died in a nursing home in Brownsville, TX.
