Mrs. Catherine Farrow Cochran, 94, began the last chapter of her life on August 25, 2022. She died peacefully at her home at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community. Mrs. Cochran was born in Spartanburg, SC, to James Boyd Farrow, Jr. and Cora Lewis Farrow and was the widow of Ira Lee Cochran, Jr. She was a graduate of Shelby High School and Appalachian State University (formerly ASTC). She worked for 37 years as a registered dietician in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Lakeland, Florida; Charlottesville, Virginia; and ended her career with Winston-Salem-Forsyth County School System.



She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Barbara Grace Farrow, Corbert Speake Farrow, Dorothy Lois Farrow Elliott, Walter Theron Farrow, Lula Juanita Farrow Poston, and Sarah Love Farrow Roberts. She is survived by eight nephews, five nieces, and many dear friends.



Mrs. Cochran was an active member of the Union Ridge United Methodist Church, where she served as President of Methodist Women, Sunday School teacher, and member of the Administrative Council for many years.



Visitation will be at Union Ridge Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC, on Sunday, August 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Angie Toth officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery, 1050 Cemetery Street, Kernersville, NC. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Cochran.
