I acquired Hollie right after hurricane Katrina. Since the hurricane left me jobless, I spent time working with her to train her. It really didn't take much time though. She was a pretty smart little girl. She could sit, stay, shake, high five, play dead, say her prayers, run circles (I called this running track), she picked up her toys, jumped through hoops, she would inform me as to when my bird happened to fly off her cage, she knew the term "leave it" and she knew how to speak and she could sit up. She liked going for rides and her favorite thing of all was chasing squirrels up the tree. Approxiamately 3 weeks ago, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. She spent a week in the hospital. She came home for 5 days before having to take her back for another 5 days. One week and a day later, I had to put her to sleep. She was steadily going downhill. I couldn't stand the thought of her suffering. Really hurts losing something that is part of the family. I know she's waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
