Thursday, 16 JAN 1969:
Mrs. Emma Deal Workman, 76, of Muddelty (sic), died at her home Sunday afternoon, Jan. 12, following a sudden illness. She was the daughter of the late Will and Cindy McKinney Deal and was born in Clay County May 19, 1892. She was married to Ruben Lee Workman, who now survives. Also surviving are seven sons, Jessie, Clennie, Flavie, Hazel, Delman, and Phil, all of Route 1, Summersville, and George of Ukia, California; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice McKinney and Mrs. Eve Kelley, both of Route 1, Summersville; two brothers, Riley and Floyd Deal; and one half-brother, Frank Deal, all of Route 1, Summersville; one half-sister, Mrs. Elvra White of Route 1, Summersville; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the home at Muddlety on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and returned to the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville for funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Howard Paxton officiating. Burial followed in the Walker Cemetery at Summersville under the direction of Waters Funeral Chapel of Summersville.
