Obituary:
Jane Turner dies after long illness
Frances Jane Turner, wife of J. Irvine Turner and beloved resident of the American Spinning company's village, passed away early friday morning (11/10/1922) at the home , No. 331 Bates Street, at the age of 75 years, 30 years of which were spent as a resident of Greenville.
Besides her husband the following children, together with 45 (or 48 ?) grandchildren and a large family connection, survive her. Mr B.L. Turner of Alabama city, Ala.: Mrs Z.A. Freeman, of Atlanta; Mrs. Salllie Lee of Inman, Mr. Tom Turner, Mrs. Lola Turner, Mrs. Corrie Hammond of Greenville; beside the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Mary Bryant, Mrs Lucindy Sizemore and Wilson Hughes. Mrs. Turner was a sister of the late Mrs Lucindy Sizemore, mother of Superintendent, T. A. Sizemore of the American Spinning company.
Mrs. Turner had been in Failing health for three years. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist church of this city, and active in the church work as long as her health permitted.
Funeral services are to be held from Bethel Methodist church Samson Mills, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Green and the Rev. B.O. Fields will officiate and the following gentlemen will be the pallbearers: Messers P.L. and W.E. Campbell, willie Sizemore, Lee Hughes, Richard Caudwell and Joe Fridge (spelling?). The interment will be made in the Samson Cemetery.
