Sung InKyu, former member of disbanded K-Pop group A'ST1, died on February 22, 2013, after a long battle with thymus cancer. He was 24 years old.
InKyu was born and raised in South Korea. He attended Suwon University and studied film and theater.
He debuted with the K-Pop group A'ST1 on April 24, 2008, under DSP Entertainment. His position was the group's main rapper. The group disbanded on November 28, 2009.
In April 2011, InKyu began experiencing severe chest pain and a month later he went to the hospital, where CT scans showed a mass in his chest. He was diagnosed with Stage 2 Thymus Gland Cancer.
He fought for almost two years, enduring many rounds of chemotherapy, before passing away. His wake was held at the funeral center of the Asan Hospital.
InKyu really lived life to the fullest. He loved to sing, write songs, rap, beatbox, swim, play basketball and practice taekwondo. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him, and by his fans around the world.
