He retired after 20 years of service as an auto mechanic for the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth where he served as a deacon and choir member.
Survived by his wife, Mary Wilson Jackson; 3 daughters; 1 stepdaughter; 1 stepson; 1 sister; 2 brothers; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held February 18, 2013 at First Baptist Church South Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA; Pastor Warren Almet, Officiating. Interment held at Albert G. Horton Cemetery, Suffolk.
