Peggy Ann (Rutledge) Akin was born on October 18, 1937 in Illinois, the daughter of Allen Rutledge and Ruby ( -- ) Rutledge.
She was a 1955 graduate of East High School and was part of the East Eagle Hens who went out every month and had dinner together years after graduation. She was married to Alfred Ray Akin (1936–2005).
Living in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Peggy was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ for many years. She was 75 years old and a widow when she passed away on February 26, 2013.
Preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, she was survived by a married daughter, two grandsons, a brother, nephew and two nieces.
Celebration of Life Services were held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, and burial was in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
