Herbert Grossnickle, 70, of near Myersville, died Saturday evening at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a week's illness of cerebral hemorrhage. He was born near Myersville, son of the late Charles W. and Clara Leatherman Grossnickle and was a lifelong resident of the community where he was well known as a carpenter and painter. He was a lifelong member of Grossnickle's Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are: Three sons, Ernest and Richard, of near Frederick; Willie, near Myersville; two daughters, Mrs. Franklin Smith, New Market, and Mrs. Joseph Gowen, Riverdale and 13 grandchildren. Two brothers, Roy W. and George M., both of Myersville; one sister, Mrs. Russell P. Wiles, Middletown, also survive.

The body is at the funeral home in Myersville where friends may call. Funeral services at the funeral home at 11 o'clock. Interment Grossnickle's Church of the Brethren cemetery. Paul F. Bittle, funeral director.
