Jesse Gibson was about seventeen and Theresa Goodin was about fourteen when they married about 1814.

The 1830 census of June 12, revealed they were living in Knox County, Kentucky. Household members: Jepe Gibson (40-49), Theresa (30-39), one male (15-19), Joseph & one male (10-14), Allen & William (5-9), Green (under 5), Elizabeth (15-19) and Rebecca (5-9).

The 1840 census revealed four household members were employed in agriculture. One household member could not read or write. Household members: Jessee Gibson (40-49), Theresa (40-49), Allen & William (15-19), Green (10-14), Sarah (5-9) and Margaret (under 5).

The 1850 census of August 21, revealed Jesse, a widower, had no occupation and was born in Tennessee. Household members: Jesse Gipson (53), Green C. (21), Sarah A. (19) and Margaret (15). His son, William and family lived two doors away.

The 1860 census of July 26, revealed Jesse lived with his daughter, Margaret Emory and family in Greasy Creek, Knox County, Kentucky. The post office was in Flat Lick. Jesse was born in Kentucky. Household members: Jesse Gibson (65), Jessee Emory (25), Margrett (23), Polly (6), James (4) and Pheba (2). Jesse's son, William and family lived next door and son, Green lived two doors away. Jesse's son, Joseph lived four doors away on the other side.

Jesse died sometime after the 1860 census.
