Sarah Ann Tracy Bishop was the daughter of Calvin Tracy and Sarah Green. She was born and raised on the Tracy Homestead on the Sherwood Road near Sherwood in the Town of Scipio, Cayuga Co., New York. Sarah married Augustus Bishop ca. 1855. Sarah and Augustus resided first in the Town of Ledyard, Cayuga Co., New York but returned to Scipio by 1870 where they remained until ca. 1900 when they took up residence on the Gould farm in Ledyard. Following her husband's death in 1904, Sarah resided in Auburn, at the end of her life with her daughter, Harriett Bishop Aiken, at 52 Capitol Street. Sarah and Augustus had four children: Edwin, Calvin T., Harriett, and Nellie M. Bishop.

"Bishop - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Aiken, No. 52 Capitol St., Auburn, N.Y., Thursday evening, June 29, 1916, Sarah A. Bishop, widow of Augustus Bishop, in the 84th year of her age. Funeral services will be held at the house, Sunday afternoon, July 2, at 2 o'clock. Burial in Scipio Rural Cemetery, Scipio Center, about 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon."
