Ada Metzler
Mrs. Ada DRUDGE METZLER, 78, 114 East 12th street, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn hospital after a serious illness of one week.
Mrs. Metzler was a native of Fulton county and had lived in Rochester for the last 31 years. She was born on Dec. 12, 1877, the daughter of Jerry and Emeline ZOLMAN DRUDGE, and came to Rochester from Newcastle township.
On March 14, 1909, she was married to Herman METZLER. She was a member of the Talma Methodist church and president of the Womans Society. She transferred her membership to the Grace Methodist church when she moved to Rochester and was an active member of the W.S.C.S.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Emeline SWANSON, Byron, Ill.; a son, Jerry [METZLER], Rochester; a grandson, Lt. Richard SWANSON, Ft. Bliss, Texas; two granddaughters, Miss Linda METZLER, Rochester, and Mrs. Ann JOHNSON, Michigan City; several nieces and nephews. The husband and two brothers, Amos and Charles DRUDGE, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grace Methodist church with the Rev. Claude YOUNG officiating. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery.
Friends may call at the Foster funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour before the rites.
