J C's parents were:
John R Jennings (1859 - 1918)
Minnie Lee Shipley Sellers (1875 - 1931)

Minnie was his father's second wife. She gave birth to him & his older sister, Octie, born on October 23, 1905. She died on May 27, 1993, and is also buried in Little Lake Cemetery.

ON JANUARY 18, 1920,
J C, age 12, was living in Morgan Township, Ardmore, Carter Co, OK with his mother Minnie Sellars, age 45, & sister, Ottie O., 15. They were renting a home; his sister was a waitress in a cafe.

"Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Jennings and family of Vernon, TX are visiting in the homes of Jennings' brothers, J.C. Jennings, W.C. Jennings and Jess Jennings."

J C was living in Long Beach, CA in March 1933 when the following newspaper article was published in the Ardmore Daily Ardmoreite on March 17, 1933. Nothing further was published about the incident, leaving one very curious as to the problem.
"Mrs. Don Pettijohn, 1107 Wolverton, has been informed of the safety of her brother, J.C. Jennings, formerly of Ardmore, who is now in Long Beach, Cal."

J C was living in Los Angeles when his brother, William Calvin died in Ardmore on April 11, 1935. He was the only one of his siblings who didn't attend the funeral.

J C returned to Ardmore & was there for the wedding of his niece, Jewel Jennings, when she was married to Leo Woodrow on February 17, 1939.

J C was married when the Federal Census was taken on:
APRIL 4, 1940,
J C Jennings, age 32, and his wife, Myrtle, age 44, were renting a home in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK. The record indicated that he had lived in Los Angeles, CA in 1935. J C had a job as a laborer in a pipe line company.

"J.C. Crosby says his neighbor is going to take the garden prize. The neighbor is J.C. Jennings at 111 Eighth avenue northwest. On his table now he has onions, radishes, lettuce and mustard."

Mrs. Myrtle Jennings, formerly Mrs. Myrtle Flick, reports the death of her son, Staff Sgt Gary Frederick Hinton, in an airplane crash at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala., Dec. 5, 1942. Mrs. Jennings' address is Box 857, Port Hueneme, Cal."

J C & Myrtle were living in Norwalk, CA when his step-sister, Nancy, & husband, Rev. Don Pettijohn, visited them in September 1947.

Mrs. Don Pettijohn of Norwalk, Cal., was honored at a surprise dinner on her birthday in the home of her brother, J.C. Jennings also of Norwalk. Mrs. Pettijohn formerly resided in Ardmore. Nineteen guests were present at the event."
