She was born in Bronson, Texas to Emma Jane Clark McGown and Malcolm Elisha McGown on July 12, 1920.
She graduated from Pineland High School and moved to Port Arthur in 1942. Rubye was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, she loved painting, gardening and dancing and pretty things, she especially loved being with her family.
Private Memorial Services will be held at Clayton Thompson with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Lois Tarver, Ida Pearl Wall and Milton McGown and her husband, Frederick Stephen Jones.
Rubye is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Anne McDaniel of Austin, Texas, her son, Robert Stephen Jones and wife Beth of Austin, Texas, three grandchildren, Ben Jones, Katy Jones and Frederick Adam McDaniel. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mildred M. West and Patsy Holliman both of Port Arthur, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
