John Wessley Henkle was married July 10,1892 at Farmington Whitman County,Washington to Eva Edna Scott daughter of John and Adda(Hands)Scott.She was born September 24,1876 died October 5,1954 Portland,Oregon They had three children.John W Henkle was reared in the vicinity of Philomath,the pioneer home of the Henkles in Oregon.He moved in 1884 to Sherman County,Oregon and in 1889 to Whitman County, Washington. Here in partnershipn with his brother Thomas J.Henkle they esablished a hardware stote at Tekoa which was in operation for many years.he finally disposed of his interests and moved to Lentz Oregon where he entered the grocery business.After retirement he continued to reside at Portland.
