EDWARD CHESTER BIALKOWSKI

Edward Chester Bialkowski, age 89, died peacefully at home July 3, 2007, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with entombment to follow at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. Graveside military rites will be accorded by members of the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts of Two Rivers.

Edward was born May 23, 1918, in Newton, the son of the late Ignace and Agnes Kania Bonk. He attended St. Boniface Catholic Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936. Edward served with the U.S. Army Field Artillery in Europe from April 1943 to November 1945. On December 27, 1947, he married Helen Maruga. Ed was employed at Medusa Portland Cement Co. in Manitowoc for 34 years. He volunteered for several causes, including Red Cross Rolling Wheels, Share Program and the V.F.W.-American Legion Firing Squad. He also served as VFW Post Commander. Ed enjoyed all sports, fishing, playing cribbage and cards, reading, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edward was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Stephen and Theresa Maruga; sisters: Elaine Jeske and Bernice Nimtz; sisters-in-law: Irene Morency and Grace Maruga; and brothers-in-law: Arthur Klabunde and Ralph Jeske.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007. Visitation will continue at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers, at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, July 7, 2007, until the time of Mass at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church or the charity of your choice. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels is assisting the Bialkowski family with funeral
arrangements.
