Clara Bejma

April 14, 1908 – Oct. 15, 2004 South Bend— Clara Bejma, 96, of Regency Place, died Friday in the nursing home. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Grembowicz and Joan Beitler, both of South Bend; and a son, John Bejma of Hot Springs, Ark.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday in the St.Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road.

Clara Bejma, 96, of Regency Place, passed away Friday, Oct.15, 2004. Clara was born on April 14, 1908, in South Bend, Ind. to George and Victoria (Podemski) Kajzer who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death are six sisters, Tillie Pajakowski, Veronica Prentkowski, Esther Sobieralski, Mary Wroblewski, Harriet Pienkowski and Martha Bejma; three brothers, Alex, Joseph and Roman Kajzer, and two brothers who died at birth; and one great-granddaughter, Angel.

On June 4, 1928, Clara married Aloysius “Ollie”Bejma, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Grembowicz and Joan (Donald) Beitler, both of South Bend; one son, John (Ginny) Bejma of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Clara was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and the Legion of Honor Nest 80 Polish Falcons of America.

Family and friends may call on Monday, Oct.18, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 209 S. Taylor St., South Bend, IN 46601; or to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
