Born on October 16, 1926 in Farrar, MO, son of Ernst and Emma (Hadler) Bachmann. He and Esther Mueller were married on May 21, 1949. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2010.
He had worked for MFA Menfro branch for 42 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Crosstown, their Men's Club, LLL, and Thrivent Branch. He had held many church offices, most recently he was treasurer. He was a member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, and a US Army veteran of WW II. Orville enjoyed fishing, cutting firewood, caring for his blackberry plants, growing irises and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include two sons, David (Gail) Bachmann of Deer Park, IL, Roy Bachmann of St. Louis; four daughters, Sharon Bachmann of Springfield, MO, Glenda Bachmann of Gladstone, MO, Sandra Bachmann of Kansas City, MO, Charlene Bachmann of Hoyleton, IL; two brothers, Norman (Dorothy) Bachmann of St. Louis, Raymond (Annette) (Anne) Bachmann of Brownstown, IN; three sisters, Aldine (Leroy) Muench of Cissna Park, IL, Loretta Givens of Perryville, Euline (Norman) Koenig of Perryville; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Vernold Bachmann; and brother-in-law, Arthur "Bill" Givens.
