MITCHELL, Helen Haurand, age 94, of Tappahannock, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Carrington Place of Tappahannock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin G. Mitchell. She is survived by her two sons, Jim Mitchell (Barbara) of Manquin and Garland Mitchell (Kate) of Homer, Alaska; four grandchildren, Richard, Jennifer, Tiny and Jay; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Haurand of West Point. Helen was a retired employee of the Virginia Elastic Plant and a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held in Essex Cemetery on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 129, Tappahannock, Va. 22560, or the Tappahannock Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583, Tappahannock, Va. 22560.
