Following the Revolution, Cooper Pixley lived in New York and Canada. He moved to Portage, Columbia County , Wisconsin in June, 1849. Pixley died March 12, 1855, and is buried in the Fort Winnebago Cemetery , Section 33, Town of Ft. Winnebago, Portage, Columbia County, Wisconsin.[1] Cemetery is on County F, off of Highway 33, near the Surgeon Quarters. His grave is marked by the Wau-Bun Chapter of the DAR. He is buried next to Alexander Porter.
