Abel Rothrock was the second of four known (or eldest of three known?) children of John Rothrock (1803-1885) and his second known wife, Sophia Kline Fulmer (1808-1888), who married c1844 in presumably Pennsylvania. John had an additional seven (or eight?) known children by his first wife, name unknown.
Abel first married to Lucile "Lucy" Martz (???-1873) in c1870 in presumably Pennsylvania. Abel and Lucy were the parents of two known children (both born in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania):
1. Harry J. rothrock (1871-1966)
2. Anna Elizabeth Rothrock Moore (1873-1942)
It is not known if Lucy died in Pennsylvania or Delaware. After Lucy died, Abel remarried to Louisa Carter (1853-1925) in c1879 in presumably Delaware. Abel and Louisa were the parents of six known children, namely:
3. William John Rothrock (1880-1956)
4. Mary Rothrock (1882-1882)
5. Mabel J. Rothrock Wilson (1884-1950)
6. Bessie Rothrock (1886-1886)

Abel worked for the shipbuilding firm of Pusey and Jones in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1900 Abel, Louise and daughter Mabel were living at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. In 1910 Abel and Louisa were living at the 12th Ward, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. Louisa said she was the mother of eight? (hard to read) children, two living. Is the number 8 correct? In 1920 Abel and Louise were still living at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.
