ST. ANTHONY - Gladys Rebecca Wardle Simons, 78, a longtime resident of St. Anthony, died Monday evening at an Idaho Falls nursing home of natural causes. Born Jan 30, 1900, at Lima, Mont., she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Leah Ann Woolsey Wright. When she was an infant, the family moved to LaBelle. In 1908 the family moved to Sugar City, where her father worked at the sugar factory. In July of 1919 she was married to Leslie Lavern Wardle at Annis. Four children were born to that union. They were later divorced. For several years she lived in California and at Reno, Nevada. She had made her home in St. Anthony for the past 26 years. She was a member of the LDS Church. Her hobbies were fishing and rock collecting. Survivors are 3 daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Phyllis) Higley of Blackfoot, Mrs. Robert (Vvs) Webster of Challis, and Mrs. Grover (Rayola) Garrett of St. Anthony; one son, Robert Silas Wardle of Idaho Falls; one brother, William E. Wright of Reno, NV; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers. Services will be held at 1 pm Friday at the St. Anthony LDS 3rd Ward church, with Bishop Don Vanderlinden officiating. Burial will be at the Parker Cemetery, under direction of the Hansen Memorial Chapel in St. Anthony. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the service time on Friday.The daughter of Robert Lee Wright & Leah Ann Woolsey
