Edward Eslinger, age 77, of 726 S. State St., Mishicot, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot with the Rev. Robert Johannes officiating, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.
Ed was born Jan. 21, 1929, in the town of Mishicot to the late Ervin and Libby Zimmerhakel Eslinger and has been a lifelong area resident.
He married the former Carol Clasen on July 11, 1959, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2000.
Mr. Eslinger worked for the Hamilton Manufacturing Co. for many years. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, and also was a member of the Pleasant View Gun Club. He was an avid sportsman, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two sons: Dale and Chris Eslinger, of Mishicot; Wayne Eslinger, of Two Rivers; four grandchildren: Heather, Adam, Ashley, and Heidi; one brother: Eugene Eslinger, of Two Rivers; and one sister and brother-in-law: Irene and Delmar Horstman, of Manitowoc. He is further survived by three sisters-in-law: Marlene Eslinger, Jeanette Eslinger, both of Mishicot; and Dorothy Reindl, of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife: Carol, he was also preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Lester, and Leonard.
Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Eslinger family with funeral arrangements.
