Viola Oliver, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 1996 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness. She was born Jan. 5, 1911 in Helenwood. Tenn. And lived here since 1939.
She married George W. Oliver Aug. 25, 1925 in Kentucky. Mr. Oliver preceded her in death in 1961.
She is survived by her sons Jack (Carolyn) of South Haven, Paul B. (Fern) of San Antonio, Texas, Sylvester (Pattie) of Greer, S.C., and George W. Jr. of Goodells;
A daughter, Carolyn (Stanley) Lash of Marysville; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by sons Bruce and William.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home South Chapel, burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
