Mrs. Ivellie G. Stilwell, age 92, of the Mill Creek section of Raven, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (March 13, 2013) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born November 5, 1920 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Robert "Jim" and Laura Turner Newberry. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Stilwell, two infant children, Nancy and Willard, three brothers, Andrew Newberry, Jay Newberry, and Ruey Newberry, and three sisters, Thelma Weaver, Saley Fairbrother, and Rosie Richardson. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include one daughter, Shelvia Miller and husband, Larry of Honaker; one son, Ralph Stilwell and wife, Peggy of Honaker; four grandchildren, Jerry Miller, Shelia Mullins, Jeffery Miller and wife, Cecile, and David Miller and wife, Lindsey; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Mullins and wife, Jennifer, Camille Miller, Ethan Miller, Emily Miller, Stephen Miller, and Landon Miller; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Steve Perkins and Rev. Ancil Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Mullins, Jerry Miller, David Miller, Bill Stilwell, Wayne Stilwell, Jimmy Stilwell, Marvin Short, and Don Stilwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Richardson, Olbert Richardson, and Dr. Jonathan Swank.
