Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Dymann L. Jirovec officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Mrs. Brown was the postmistress in Easton the last nine years before she retired. She previously worked at the post office and bank in New Holland. She had also worked in Lincoln at Kreske and at the Stetson China Factory, where she hand-painted china for a number of years.
She was born Nov. 2, 1924, at New Holland to Fritz and Mabel M. Erdman Harnacke. She married Harlan Brown on Aug. 5, 1941. He died Aug. 22, 1974.
She is survived by one sister, Donna Maaks of Bloomington; one aunt, Esther Johnson of Lincoln; cousins, nieces and nephews; and special neighbors Joe Funk and Ron Waldron of New Holland.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of New Holland, a graduate of New Holland High School and lived in New Holland all her life until her husband's death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of New Holland, the New Holland Rescue Squad, Central Illinois Hospice air mattress fund or New Holland Community Center.
