When Mildred's days weren't filled with being a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother or friend, she was a guidance counselor for Roanoke county school system for 27 years. She recieved her BS in education from Radford University and her Masters from UVA.
The Bible says there are three important things in life, faith, hope and love. The greatest of all being love. Mrs. Dick Bryant exemplified this in life and leaves us inspired in death. She was a woman who woke everyday, normally before dawn with an extravagantly weak cup of coffee, to live and love the way a true Christian should. Embodying her two favorite sayings, "keep on keepin' on" and "tough times don't last but tough people do." She was very much like a river. Day to day she flowed, consistent and purposeful, over time revealing the magnificent landscape she had planned all along. Only with time will we be able to appreciate the scope of the master piece she left behind. With faith and hope confirmed, she now travels to heaven, to join her one true love and shine eternally.
Visitation is Thursday, March 14th from 5:00-8:00pm at Oakey's South Chapel. The service will be conducted by Dr. Kevin Meadows and Rev. Charlie Krause on Friday, March 15th at 2:00pm at Grandin Court Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
