DANIEL J. LODL

Daniel J. Lodl, age 76, formerly of Two Rivers, and 2000 Kellner St., Manitowoc, currently a resident of Las Vegas, Nev., died Sunday, December 28, 1997, at Valley Hospital, Las Vegas. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 1998, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William O'Brien with entombment to follow in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

He was born May 1, 1921, in Larabee, Wis., son of the late John and Blanche Graycarek Lodl. On September 10, 1942, he entered the United States Army and served during World War II in France. He was honorable discharged from service on January 29, 1946.

On November 7, 1942, he married Joyce La Pean in Columbus, Ga. She preceded him in death November 4, 1994.

Danny was co-owner/operator of Hoffman Bros. Construction Company in Two Rivers, where he served as the company's vice president. In 1973, he was joined in business by his two brothers. He continued to serve as vice president until his retirement in 1981. Danny was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, the VFW Post 1248 of Two Rivers, and a past member of the Two Rivers Lions Club.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon and Frank Bonfigt, Two Rvers, Linda Kaufmann and Nancy Pierre, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Trisha (Dan) Schumaker, Corey and Craig Kaufmann; two great-granddaughters, Nicole and Amanda Schumaker; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Joan Lodl, John and Betty Lodl all of Two Rivers; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Florence and Robert Scheuer, Mishicot, Grace and Ben Domenoski, Two Rivers, Arlene Nehring, Manitowoc; a special friend, Claire Sorenson, Mishicot; Dr. Terry and Nancy Scheer, Manitowoc; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Jim Pierre; a brother-in-law, Howard Nehring; and by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Clarence Scheer.

Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Church after 9 a.m. on Friday until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
