TEXT OF OBITUARY: (August 07, 1929)
MRS. SALLY C. HAMES
Mrs. Sally C. Hames, 73, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.B. Kirby, Pacolet Mills, after several years of illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday beside the grave at Hames cemetery on the Jonesville-Gaffney highway. The Rev. W.T. Tate, assisted by the Rev. M.W. Wilson, will conduct the burial services.
Mrs. Hames, prior to her death, was an invalid for five years.
Surviving her are the following children: L.M. Hames, Boyce Hames, Mrs. John T. Reid, and Mrs. L.B. Kirby, all of Pacolet; Mrs. Robert Adams, Kelton; Mrs. W.W. Lancaster, city; Mrs. W.K. Ledbetter, city; and Mrs. J.L. Penland, Inman; and one brother, James Brown, Hulka, Miss.
Mrs. Hames was the widow of the late S.W. Hames, who preceded her to the grave 12 years ago. She was a member of the Pacolet Mills Baptist church and a well-loved woman of her community.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sally C. Hames, 73, who died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.B. Kirby, at Pacolet Mills, after an illness of five years were conducted a the graveside in the Hames cemetery on the Gaffney-Jonesville highway Thursday afternoon by the Rev. W.T. Tate, assisted by the Rev. M.W. Wilson.
