Mrs. Roy (Jane) Newlin, 72, of 2140 S. 17th Street, Manitowoc, passed away Tuesday morning, September 12, 1989 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at First Baptist Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Bruce P. Huffer will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

Jane Specht was born September 20, 1916 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Henry and Ella Basken Specht. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1934 and also attended Manitowoc County Business college. Mrs. Newlin was employed as a Secretary by Atty. Teitgen; Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company and Attys. Murphy, Brady and Hazelwood. Mrs. Newlin was very active in First Baptist Church and its Women's Society and also served as church treasurer for many years. Mrs. Newlin was a member of the Manitowoc Senior Citizens.

She married Roy A. Newlin on February 25, 1950 in Manitowoc.

Survivors include her husband, Roy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rev. Dr. Jeffrey and Virginia Newlin of Jacksonville, Florida and Timothy Newlin of Oxnard, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rev. Steven Pedersen of Strasburg, Ohio and five grandchildren, Karin, Andrew, Eric, James and Peter.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
