On April 9, 1871 Emily Julia was born to Samuel Vincent and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Jewell in Saline County, Nebraska.

On July 11, 1889 Emily "Emma" Julia Jewell (age 18) was married to Joseph Morford (age 25) in Gage County, Nebraska by E. J. Hancock, Minister of M. E. Church. They were married at the residence of Mr. S. Jewell, father of Emily. The wedding was witnessed by Mr. W. H. Jewell and M. E. Morford. M. E. Morford is the mother of Joseph and W. H. Jewell is most likely William Henry Jewell, cousin to Emily (the son of George Washington Jewell, Samuel's brother, although at the time William was only 17).

Joseph and Emily had five children: Allen Robert, Dortha Appelina, Alta Pearle, Lily Leone and Chester Monroe.

On May 18, 1935 Emily underwent an operation for Cholecystotomy.

Emily died June 2, 1935 at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 22 days. Cause of death was Toxemia, underlying causes Empyema of Gall Bladder with stones, there was an autopsy.

At the time of Emily's death she was living at 4416 Burdette Street, Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.
