Austrian entrepreneur: Founder of the Viennese daily: Die Presse. He was an artillery officer before going to Paris in 1838 to found the famous Viennese Bakery, "Boulangerie Viennoise". He is credited for inventing the Viennese steam oven which became a French standard in baking and popularizing Viennese baking techniques.
In his later years he owner a bank and a mine in an area known today as "Zangtal" ("Zang Valley") Styria
