Wesley H. Schmidt, age 78, of the Americana Health Care Center of Appleton, formerly of Brillion, loving and caring father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Friday, March 6, 1992, at Appleton Medical Center, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Rural United Methodist Church in Brillion with the Rev. George Groves officiating. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum.
He was born January 3, 1914 in New Holstein, son of the late Henry and Anna Rohloff Schmidt. He was married to Irene Bastain on October 18, 1946 at rural Brillion.
He was employed at the Ariens Company of Brillion for 10 years and he also farmed in the rural Brillion area until moving to Brillion in 1981. He was a member of the Rural United Methodist Church, Brillion.
He is survived by his daughter, Luella Schmidt and her friend, Jim Winckler, of Appleton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jean and Dorene Schmidt of Brillion and George and Dawn Schmidt of Appleton; five grandchildren, Nichole and Ryan Schmidt and Matthew, Michael and Michelle Schmidt; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Murrel (sic) Schmidt of New Holstein.
He was preceded in death by his wife, January 3, 1990 and a sister, Pearl.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4 until 9 .m. on Sunday and then at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
