English Aristocracy. Born the daughter of Thomas of Brotherton, Earl of Norfolk and Alice Hayles. She married Sir Edward Mountagu, Lord Mountagu, in January 1339. The couple had six children, only three of whom survived their mother. She died at Bungay, Suffolk, from injuries received in an assault by her husband. He and some of his retainers were indicted for the crime, but were for the most part, eventually pardoned. She was also known as Alice of Brotherton and Alice of Norfolk.
