PONTOTOC Ethel Lucille Caldwell Owen, 86, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a retired garment factory worker and a Methodist.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Tom Sheffield and the Rev. W. T. Dexter officiating. Burial will be in Jernigan Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Pulley, Sandra Nanney, and Phyllis Moore and her husband, Johnny, all of Pontotoc, and Diane Turner of Tupelo; one son, Donald Owen and his wife, Barbara, of Pontotoc; two sisters, Gladys Winters of Houston and Doris Adcock of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Caldwell of Pontotoc and Dorman Caldwell of Little Rock, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, Greg Pulley, Gary Nanney, Keith Owen, Troy Owen, Regina Owen Carter, Renee Owen Stephens, Jessica Owen Gaston, Ashley Owen, Natasha Turner Carpenter, Glenn Moore, Chad Moore and Jeremy Moore; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Presley "Press" Caldwell and Elizabeth "Bettie" Price Caldwell; her husband, Mooney G. Owen; a son, Bobby K. Owen; two brothers, Frank Caldwell of Pontotoc, MS; Horace Caldwell of Memphis, TN; a sister, Francis Caldwell Pitts (Graham) of Mobile, AL; and two sons-in-law, Rex Pulley and Rex Nanney.
Pallbearers will be Neal Turner, James Lawrence Caldwell, Rodney Crawford, Raymond Owen, Spencer Gaston and Ken Carter.
