Lincoln Jones Dies Suddenly in Troy Twp.
Lincoln Jones, aged 77, well known Troy township farmer, died suddenly at his home near Troy Center at 9:30 a.m., yesterday. Mr. Jones worked about his farm as usual on Tuesday, but became seriously ill late at night from heart trouble. He passed away while a physician was attending him yesterday forenoon.
Mr. Jones was a son of Orrie and Melissa Love Jones and was born on August 10, 1864. With the exception of six years spent in California, Mr. Jones spent his entire life in Troy and Steuben townships and enjoyed a wide acquaintance. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones, died on March 8, 1939. He leaves two sons Jesse Jones of Sonora Calif., and George R. Jones of Troy Center, and a daughter, Mrs. Olive Sterling of Troy township. There are six grand children and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted from the Troy Center Methodist church at 2 pm Saturday with interment in the church cemetery.
